If you abide [live] in Me, and My words abide [live] in you, ask whatever you wish, and it
shall be done for you.

When we pray, we must follow certain steps. First, we pray to God the Father.
But when you pray, go into
your room, close the door [don’t be a show off] and pray to your
Father, Who is unseen. Then your Father, Who sees what is done in
secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:6
Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace,
that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
At the beginning of our prayer we rebound if necessary. That means to tell God the Father our sins and then we will be filled with the Holy Spirit.
If we confess our sins, He is
faithful and righteous [fair] to forgive us our sins and cleanse
[purify] us from all unrighteousness.
